Basketball is the second-largest book on the site. High scoring means spreads and totals move a lot, which makes live betting more interesting here than in almost any other sport — a ten-point swing takes ninety seconds.
Leagues covered
- NBA — every regular season game, play-in, playoffs and finals.
- EuroLeague and EuroCup — full season coverage.
- CBA — the Chinese league, popular across Asian markets.
- Asian domestic — VBA, Thailand Basketball League, B.League, KBL.
- International — FIBA World Cup, Olympic basketball, continental championships.
The main markets
| Market | How it works | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Handicap (spread) | One team gets a points head start | The core basketball bet |
| Total (over/under) | Combined points above or below a line | Moves with pace, not just quality |
| Moneyline | Straight winner | Heavy favourites offer little value |
| Quarter / half | Same markets on a segment | Rotations matter more than form |
| Player props | Points, rebounds, assists | Thinner markets, lower limits |
What actually moves a basketball line
- Rest. Back-to-back games, especially with travel, cost a team several points.
- Pace. Two fast teams produce a high total regardless of how good either is.
- Injury news. One star out moves an NBA line by four to seven points — and the books adjust within minutes of the report.
- Garbage time. Blowouts distort totals and ruin player props. Live totals price this in; pre-match ones do not.
NBA tip-offs land in the early morning across Vietnam and Thailand. Live betting on the second half is often the more practical window.

Basketball questions
What does -5.5 mean?
Your team must win by six or more. A five-point win loses the bet.
Are quarter bets settled separately?
Yes. Each quarter and half is its own market, settled on that segment alone.
Is overtime included?
For full-game markets, yes. Quarter and half markets exclude it.
Which book is best for NBA?
BTI and SportsBook carry the deepest NBA market lists. Saba has the strongest Asian league coverage.
Reading a line, worked through
A typical NBA line looks like this. Each number is doing a separate job and it is worth being able to name all four.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Lakers −5.5 | Lakers must win by 6 or more for the bet to win |
| Celtics +5.5 | Celtics win the bet by winning outright or losing by 5 or fewer |
| Total 228.5 | Combined score over or under 228.5 points |
| Lakers −210 | Stake 210 to win 100 on the Lakers to win outright |
The half-point exists to remove pushes. A line of −5 can land exactly on 5 and refund everyone; −5.5 cannot. When you see a whole number, check whether the book pushes or refunds, because the two are not the same across all four of ours.
Comparing our four books on basketball
| Book | Strongest at | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| BTI | NBA depth, player props, fast injury reactions | Opens early, so early lines move a lot |
| Saba | Asian leagues, CBA, live limits | Thinner NBA prop list |
| SportsBook | EuroLeague, quarter and half markets | Slower to post player props |
| GA28 | Regional and second-tier coverage | Smallest market list of the four |
Line shopping matters more in basketball than in football because the numbers are bigger and the disagreements are wider. Half a point on a spread is worth real money across a season, and on a busy NBA night the four books will not agree on every game.
Staking
- Fix your unit before the slate starts. One to two percent of bankroll per bet is the range that survives a bad week.
- Do not scale up on confidence. The games you feel strongest about are the ones the market has priced most carefully.
- Treat parlays as entertainment. Each leg multiplies the book’s margin, which is why they are promoted so heavily.
- Record every bet. Without a log you will remember the winners and forget the rest, and you will be wrong about which bets you are good at.
Back-to-back games are the single most reliable edge available to a casual bettor. Teams on the second night of a back-to-back, especially after travel, underperform their line consistently enough that the market now prices much of it in — but not all of it, and not on every book.
